Grade Physical Science
North Rockland Central School District
Thiells, NY
Where I've Been
I was born and
raised just across the Hudson River from where I currently
work. I was born in Mount Kisco, NY and spent the first 23
years of my life living in Putnam Valley, NY just North of the
Westchester/Putnam County Boarder. I spent 4 years in Albany,
NY attending Albany State University. I started my teaching
career in the town I was raised at Putnam Valley High School
until I left for a full time job at North Rockland High School
where I have been for the past 5 years.
My Life as an
Educator
As an educator
I try to make physics as interesting as possible I always try to
remember what it was like to be a student in an extremely boring
physics class and strive to not allow my students, the same
experience. On the first day of classes I have all my students
tell me what they like to do whether it is sports, music, or
drama. I then make it my goal to make each of there interests
part of at least one lesson during the school year. I have
encountered a few unfortunate experiences while teaching, my
first year of teaching during my first month of employment I had
a surge protector catch on fire in my classroom. (Not my
fault). Last year I had a student sent to the hospital for
stitches in her tongue an unfortunate Doppler Effect Ultimate
Frisbee accident.
When I'm Not
Working...
I enjoy spending time with my wife Beth of two years and
working on our new house. I am also very into sports and spend
most of my free time watching my favorite teams on TV or
participating in sports. I also own my own painting business so
even when I am not working at school I am still working.
